Cafe

Bluebeard is located in the historic former Rector’s Antiques building at the corner of 6th and State Streets in Tacoma’s historic 6th Ave district.

Having housed a Ford dealership, a garage and classic car showroom, Cafe WA and Rector’s Antiques over the last three-quarters of a century — among other things — Bluebeard’s job was to get out of the way and let the spaces beautiful rough-hewn ceiling timbers, patina’d floors and 180 degrees of window do the heavy lifting.

Adopting a minimalist mid-century approach, our build out was expertly facilitated by the design/build team at SpaceCraft PDX who made our espresso bar, back shelving, window bars, tables and more. Combined with a signature concrete countertop by Matt at Form Concrete, refinished chairs from the Cloverleaf Tavern and old-school coffee roaster by Probat, Bluebeard’s aesthetic makes for a fine place to park your backside for an hour or three.

Bluebeard is taking submissions for small-format art showings — our wall space is small so wall hangings must be same. Artist submissions can be sent to artbluebeard (at) gmail (dot) com. Thanks.
